Memorial Day
Today is Memorial Day, an appropriate day to reflect upon sacrifices that those before us have made. It saddens me that in most wars, the burden of death falls mostly on people younger than myself - looking over the faces and biographies of the fallen, it's unsettling to see just how many died before reaching the legal drinking age. Please remember them today as you grill by your pool, drinking cold beer.
Me, I'll be at work. My platoon sergeant found it necessary to get us to work on Friday and today. I wish it were for some time-sensitive mission-critical task, but it isn't. And yes, I did have to do PT at 0500 this morning. At least I'll get a bad-ass parking spot.
