It's a quarter to three,And you were looking at me,Rolling me over in the clover front back go front back go.-one stanza of some walking cadence that I had heard in AIT and never heard before or since. It's not on the internet either.
I'm on TDY (temporary duty) in Hawaii. Which is actually pretty awesome. That being said, there's been a lot of grumbles from my platoon and morale is low. My PSG decided that this would be a good time to roll us around in the grass and dirt for a good old-fashioned smoke-fest, basic-training style. This in itself was a bit confusing to me, but then I don't really understand what's going on above me half the time anyway.
I, however, was not nearly as confused as the tourists who were just visiting the beach seeing these military-aged-males dressed in civilian clothes, rolling around doing pushups, flutter kicks, star jumpers, and rolling left and right in the grass. I mean, who goes to Hawaii expecting to see that outside their hotel? Some awkwardly thanked us for our service, since Memorial Day is still fresh on the mind. Which just made the PT session that much more surreal.
